近年来，越来越多的数据表明各个年龄阶段的学生或青少年甚至是已步入社会的工作人士在学习、恋爱、 婚姻、性格、人际关系以及失眠、焦虑、抑郁等方面在不同的程度上都受到了困扰，学习心理学能帮助个人很好地进行自我分析和自我调节。因此，每年有越来越多的学生选择入读心理学作为大学的专业课进行深探索。在留学中，心理学专业也是学子们最感兴趣的的热门专业之一。
在本篇文章中，橙宝君着重针对两类心理学课程进行了简单的总结：一类是针对本科非心理学专业但是硕士计划申请心理学课程的学生；另一类是针对本科是心理学背景，但是因为申请UK心理学硕士课程受限的情况。【如某些大学要求学生本科阶段需要获得BPS认证（即psychology that confers Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) status with the British Psychological Society (BPS)），学生可以选择的不要求BPS认证的心理学或相关专业。】
